EGX: Evaluation of our rushes

a) Setting up Appropriate Equipment

For the coverage of EGX London 2014, we had access to 2 Canon 650D DSLR Cameras as well as 4 different lenses; Regular, Portrait, Wide and Zoom. Over the course of the event, we utilized each type of lens in order to capture a variety of shots.

b) Following Script/Storyboard

Our intention for our production segment was to record footage and afterwards add a speech overlay to review the games we played. After the event we began to work on the script

c) Following Safe working practices

This means following the risk assessment and recce in order to keep potential risks to a minimum. Take for example the risk of theft, due there being crowds of people, was minimised by concealing and protecting equipment

d) Following Production processes

For my contribution to this production, I assumed the position of director, presenter and camera operator.

For the two shooting days at the RSPCA centre, myself and Jake (19th December 2014) recorded the main 'Games Night', using 2 Canon 650D DSLR Camera's, regular and portrait lenses, tripod and Rode Shotgun Microphone for capturing sound from interviews, which ended up being successful.
